To make sure the drive is not further damaged during shipping follow these instructions carefully.
1. Place hard drive in an anti-static bag.
2. Place the storage device inside a sturdy box clearly marked FRAGILE and surrounded on all sides with three or more inches of cushioned packing material.
3. Enclose a copy of your online quote, a business card, or company letterhead so we can quickly identify your drive. If possible enclose details about the data files you are most concerned about recovering.
4. We recommend sending your storage device overnight to expedite your data recovery process and to reduce the time your drive is subjected to 3rd party handling. We recommend using FedEx or UPS.
5. For the ultimate in security, speed and convenience Fix Data can provide door to door courier service. Call us for details.
Note: In most cases only the physical disk drive, diskette, tape, cartridge, or other media is needed for data recovery. If you are not comfortable removing internal components, send us the entire unit excluding the keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc. Please include the AC power adapter for notebooks and laptops.
